Question 1

How does this elderly monitoring app work?

Accepted Answer

The app monitors signs of normal phone use, such as the phone being touched, moved, or used during the day. When the phone stays inactive for more than 24 hours, the guardian receives an alert. It is not a live tracking app. It is a passive check-in system designed to notice when something may be wrong.

Question 2

Does Parents Are OK track my parent’s location?

Accepted Answer

No. Parents Are OK does not use GPS tracking, location sharing, or location history. The app is built for senior safety without surveillance. You know if your parent’s phone becomes inactive, but you do not see where they are.

Question 3

Does the app use the camera or microphone?

Accepted Answer

No, it does not use the camera, microphone, or any form of listening or watching. It does not record audio, take photos, monitor conversations, or access private content.

Question 4

Can I check on an elderly parent living alone without calling every day?

Accepted Answer

Yes. That is the main purpose of the app. Parents Are OK gives you a quiet way to check on an elderly parent living alone without having to call just to ask, “Are you okay?” If their phone is active, you do not need to interrupt them. If their phone shows no activity for 24 hours, you get notified.

Question 5

What happens if my parent’s phone is inactive for 24 hours?

Accepted Answer

You receive an inactivity alert. This alert tells you that your parent’s phone has not shown activity for a full day. It does not automatically mean there is an emergency. It means something is unusual enough that you should check in.

Question 6

Is this app only for emergencies?

Accepted Answer

No. Parents Are OK is not a replacement for emergency services, medical alarms, or professional care. It is a senior safety layer for families who want early warning when an aging parent’s phone appears inactive for too long.

Question 7

Does my parent need to press a daily check-in button?

Accepted Answer

No. There are no daily buttons, no manual check-ins, and no routine your parent has to remember. The app works in the background, based on normal phone activity. This makes it easier for seniors who do not want another daily task.

Question 8

Who should use this senior safety app?

Accepted Answer

Parents Are OK is best for adult children with aging parents living alone, long-distance caregivers, families who dislike GPS tracking apps, seniors who want independence and privacy, and guardians who want inactivity alerts, not constant monitoring. It is not for medical emergencies, certified fall detection, dementia wandering protection, or replacing caregivers or emergency services.

Question 9

Can more than one family member receive alerts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Parents Are OK: Senior Safety supports multiple guardians, so siblings or trusted family members can stay informed. This is useful when caregiving responsibility is shared across the family.

Question 10

What is Parents Are OK?

Accepted Answer

Parents Are OK is a non-invasive senior safety app for families. It monitors normal phone activity on an elderly parent’s phone and sends an alert if it has been inactive for too long. It does not use GPS, cameras, microphone access, or location tracking. It is not a live tracking app. It is a passive check-in system designed to notice when something may be wrong.
